Section 21
Functions, Duties and Powers of the Board
In addition to the functions, duties and powers written elsewhere in this Act, other functions, duties and powers of the Board shall be as follows:-
(a) To suggest to the Government of Nepal for policy, institutional and procedural reforms to be adopted to attract foreign investment in industrial and infrastructure development,
(b) To determine strategies and programs necessary to increase the attractiveness of foreign investment in Nepal and to promote and protect it,
(c) Approving the establishment of industries and infrastructure based on foreign investment and promoting foreign investment,
(d) Facilitating foreign investment by enhancing, expanding and protecting foreign investment (e) Maintaining coordination at the level of policy and implementation of foreign investment,
(f) Assisting in the implementation of policies and laws related to foreign investment,
(g) Providing services to foreign investors through a single point service center,
(h) To give necessary instructions to the relevant agencies after receiving information on whether the approval of foreign investment and the operation of service delivery has been carried out in a proper manner,
(h) Facilitating any problem in the implementation of this Act or the rules made under this Act in connection with repatriation of foreign investment or accumulated funds as per Section 20,
(j) To do other work as specified.
